High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini met the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Pavel Filip, today in Brussels to review the state of play of bilateral relations and of the ongoing reform process in the country, which is at the core of our Association Agreement.
In their discussions, Prime Minister Filip outlined the reform agenda of his government for the coming months and highlighted its focus on the implementation of the Association Agreement. The High Representative confirmed the European Union’s support, stressing the crucial importance of the solid reform agenda in the interest of the country’s citizens. She congratulated the Prime Minister on the IMF Board’s approval of a new programme.
Touching upon the regional situation, the High Representative and the Prime Minister agreed on the importance of good neighbourly relations.
The HRVP and Prime Minister Filip also discussed prospects for a Transnistrian settlement.
